Counterspin (Mondays
5-5:30pm) is a weekly half-hour radio program
produced by the media watchdog group FAIR (Fairness & Accuracy
in Reporting). It
provides a critical examination of the major stories every
week, and exposes what the mainstream media might have
missed in their own coverage. Combining lively discussion
and a thoughtful media critique, CounterSpin is unlike
any other show on the dial. It exposes and highlights biased
and inaccurate news; censored stories; sexism, racism and
homophobia in the news; the power of corporate influence;
gaffes and goofs by leading TV pundits; TV news' narrow
political spectrum; attacks on free speech; and more.

Signals (Tuesdays 8-9am). Hosted
by longtime OC activist Mike Kaspar and OCWeekly staffer
Nathan Callahan, this is the program that brings you
the interviews that others don't. Recent
guests include: former U.N. weapons inspector Scott Ritter,
former Presidential candidate George McGovern, award-winning
journalist Amy Goodman, and Academy Award-winning filmaker
Errol Morris ("Fog
of War").
Justice,
or Just Us (Thursdays 8-9am). Hosted by CSUF
Professor and OCPeace activist Jarret Lovell. Both and activist and
academic, Lovell merges theory with action to provide the voice of
grassroots politics. Past
guests include: Howard Zinn on"Civil Disobedience ," Dr.
Jorge Mariscal on "Military Recruitment of Minority Youth," Jeffrey
Smith on "The Tuth about Genetically Modified Food," Sherman
Austin on "Anarchism & the

Alternative
Radio (Thursdays
9-10am). Hosted
by David Barsamian and produced by Alternative Radio in Boulder, CO AR
features one-hour interviews
with the world's leading academics and activists, including Noam
Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Arundati Roy, the late Edward Said, and Tariq
Ali.
Peace
by Peace (Fridays 8-9am). Hosted by OC activists
Sarah Pauley and Ken LeCroix. Peace of mind, body, the body politic,
and soul. From
environmental to spirituality, Peace by Peace presents a vision of our
world that is free from racism, sexism, and militarism. Past guests include:
Jody Evans (Code Pink for Peace) and Greg Palast ("Best Democracy
Money Can Buy").
Progressive
Radio (Fridays 9-9:30am) is
a weekly half-hour radio show hosted by Matthew Rothchild, Editor
of The Progressive magazine Rothschild interviews activists, scholars,
and artists who are making the world a better place. Plus, every week,
he ends the show with a hardhitting two-minute commentary--lately on the
Bush's reckless war plans for Iraq. Recent guests include Al Franken,
Robert Fisk, Grace Paley, and Jim Hightower.
Voices
of Our World (Fridays 9:30-10am) is
a weekly half-hour radio program produced by Maryknoll. Maryknoll,
the U.S.-based Catholic mission movement, includes the Maryknoll Society
(priests and brothers), Maryknoll Congregation (Sisters), the Maryknoll
Mission Association of the Faithful (laity, priests and religious), and
the Maryknoll Affiliates. Since 1911, Catholics in the United States
have responded to the worldwide cry of the poor by becoming Maryknoll
Missioners. Today,
Maryknollers help people overseas build communities of faith. Some work
in war zones with refugees, others minister to the sick, the elderly,
orphans or people with AIDS. Through lives of service, Maryknollers translate
the gospel of love into different languages and in different cultures.

Subversity (Online
Archive only) Subversity is a progressive public affairs
program broadcasting through September 2003 every Tuesday afternoon
from 4-5 pm on KUCI, 88.9 fm. It began its first live broadcast
on September 27, 1993. It ran for 10 years. Subversity, in its
weekly interviews with grassroots activists and progressives
within and beyond the Orange Curtain, offers timely analysis
of the anti-war movement and resistance to the national security
state.
